March Break: March 11-15 Living a Luau Life!

Aloha!

A tropical getaway, complete with a luau, will be the perfect break from Winter!

Join us as we get in the Hawaiian island spirit by making our own leis, getting crafty with some shells, showing our artistic side with watercolour silhouette art and choosing between making a tiki lantern and a tiki mask!

Parents will want to have their cell phones ready to snap a pic of their child in front of our tropical backdrop on Thursday’s dress up day! What will you choose to wear?

Did we mention our luau? We’ll end our week with a morning of tropical inspired mini Olympics and an afternoon of luau games and some St Patrick’s Day fun! We’re so excited to play Pin the Coconut on the Palm Tree, Hot Coconut and Musical Islands. What classic camp games can we transform into Hawaiian theme games? We’re excited to hear your ideas! And we can’t forget our annual Pot of Gold Treasure hunt! It’s become a March Break tradition!

Mahalo for registering for this week of Hawaiian adventure!

Summer 2024

Week 1: July 2-5 Proud to be a Canadian!

O Canada!

Join us in celebrating some of the things that make our country great! Our artistic talents will shine as we create Inukshuk silhouette art, marble or splatter maple leaf art, and red and white stem or free art! We look forward to seeing your patriotic masterpieces!

What’s more Canadian than beavers, maple leaves and Canada Geese? We can’t wait to learn some new songs about each of these!

Our campers are one of the things that make our country great! We can’t wait for them to join us in putting a patriotic spin on some popular camp games! Will ‘Penguins Crossing the Ocean’ become ‘Geese Flying South’? Or maybe ‘Duck, Duck Goose’ will become ‘Beaver, Beaver, Moose’? The possibilities are endless!

Dig out your red and white and join us for this week of patriotic fun!

Week 2: July 8-12 Minecraft, Lego and Toys, Oh My!

Calling all who love toys and games!

We’ll have some playful fun when we make Minecraft-inspired pixel art, cool Lego masterpieces, spinning tops and our very own kerplunk game!

Classic will be the name of the game this week! We’ll play some traditional favourites like Octopus, Freeze Tag and Hot Potatoe and sing some classic camp songs like Down by the Bay and the There’s a Hole in My Bucket!

Thursday is dress up day! Will you dress up like your favourite video game character or toy? Or maybe you will keep it simple and wear a tshirt featuring a favourite toy, game or video game character.

There will be nothing but fun and games for you to enjoy again this week!

Week 3: July 15-19 Wild, Wild West!

Howdy, cow folks!

Have you ever imagined riding in on horseback wearing your shiny sheriff’s badge and cowboy or cowgirl boots? Do you picture yourself ready to keep the town safe from those on the most wanted list? Are you ready for some Wild West fun? If you said yes then this week will be perfect for you!

Join us as we make a mini clay cactus, official-looking sheriff’s badge and wanted posters! We’ll even try our hand at designing our own cowgirl or cowboy boots! What will yours look like?

Ready to do some galloping? We’ll get moving with a game or two of Rodeo Roundup and Stampede!

We’ll imagine we’re gathered around a campfire as we sing some classic and brand new camp songs! Are you ready to sing She’ll be Coming Round the Mountain?!

Thursday is dress up day! What will you wear to transform into a cowgirl, cowboy, sheriff or something else we would see in the Wild Wild West? We’re excited to see!

A big “Yeehaw” to everyone who joins us this week!

Week 4: July 23-27 Are We There Yet?

No passport? No problem! Take a one stop trip around the world right here at Winners!

This week will include STEM, STEM and more STEM as we choose a famous landmark, or more than one, to create using a variety of materials! Will you imagine travelling to the United States and building the Statue of Liberty? Or maybe you will pretend to travel even further from home and build a model of the Eiffel tower! Or maybe you will stick closer to home and create the CN Tower! Maybe you’re an inventor or engineer and want to create your own soon-to-be famous structure!

Our planet provides so many fun places to visit! Let’s celebrate the planet by making clay models of it!

We have lots in common with the rest of the world! Including loving to play games! We’re excited to learn some of the games played in places around the world! Will your new favourite be Ghana’s ‘Big Snake’, Greece’s ‘Statues’, or Scotland’s ‘Guard the Castle’? We’re sure our kinders will love playing Australia’s guessing game, ‘Skippyroo Kangaroo’!

The summer will start with us showing how proud we are to be Canadian! Join us this week to highlight some of the other great places in the world!

Week 5: July 29-August 2 Superhero Academy!

Now recruiting 2024 superheroes!

There’s no need to leap over tall buildings, control the weather, have spidey-senses or move at super speed! This week will highlight all the everyday ways we can be superheroes!

Kindness, friendship and recognizing our individual talents will be the super powers shown off this week! We’ll make colourful friendship quilts, cool superhero designs and fun superhero pool noodle poppers! Our younger campers will feel like superheroes when they make neat superhero cuffs, and our older campers will show off their artistic talent by making superhero pop art!

No capes will be needed when we play some superhero games! We’ll switch things up with some rounds of Superpower Shakedown, Superpower Pile Up and Superhero Tag!

Thursday will be the perfect day to look the part of a superhero! Will you dress up like Spiderman, the Hulk or another famous superhero? Or will you get creative and craft your own unique superhero costume using things around the house?

We’re ready for you to be our superhero by signing up for this week of adventure!

Week 6: August 6-9 Cruisin Away

Bon Voyage!

We’ll kick off the first full week of August by imagining that we’re on a 4 day cruise!

Campers will want to gain access to all cruise activities so we’ll start by making name badges to attach to our lanyard!

The craftiness will continue as we imagine what we would see through the ship’s portholes!

Will your porthole artwork show what’s under the sea? Or maybe a tropical island or an iceberg with penguins and polar bears on it!

No trip would be complete without a delicious tropical drink! We’ll craft our own using a toilet paper tube!

We would likely see lots of Beaches, Bridges and Boats on our Cruise! We’ll highlight these in our game of, you guessed it - Beaches, Bridges and Boats! We’ll also have some silly fun as we play Sink the Ship!

Cruise ship entertainment? You bet! We’ll have lots of fun pretending to be the entertainment by singing some camp songs! Or maybe some campers will want to perform for us as part of a spontaneous talent show!

Join us at our #1 port of call - Winners Day Camps!

Week 7: August 12-16 Going for Gold!

We’re number 1! We’re number 1!

We want all of our campers to walk away feeling like they’re number 1 and this week is sure to help with that!

Campers will be able to visualize themselves up on the podium when they make their own Olympic medals! Should we have an opening ceremony first? This is probably a must after we make our Olympic torches!

Do you have a favourite hockey team? Design your hockey stick craft to feature your favourite team’s colours or logo, or create a brand new design!

Everyone will have the chance to show off their skills as we host our own challenge day and try to break our own personal records! We’ll have so much fun cheering each other on! Join us in making our own World Record award! We’ll collect them and then present them during our special awards ceremony!

What’s your favourite Olympic event? We’re excited to feature Summer and Winter Olympic events during this week’s Mini Olympics!

Grab your running shoes and join us for what we’re sure will be a workout!

Week 8: August 19-23 The Great Outdoors

Yay, summertime! The perfect time to get out and enjoy the great outdoors!

There will be something for everyone this week as we make funny plant people and colourful suncatchers! We can’t wait to watch the plant people’s hair grow! We’ll get artistic with some great tree art, using a cardboard painting technique, and campers will show how they can be inspired by nature when they turn pinecones into works of art!

Rivers, birds and bees are just some of the things we love about the Great Outdoors! We’ll highlight these when we play Birds in a Nest, Jump the River and Busy Bees! Then we’ll discover more nature things by playing The Great Outdoor Treasure Hunt game!

Our Kinders will have a blast singing A Camping We Will Go, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and Baby Bumblebee! We bet our older campers will join in when we sing Down by the Bay!

A Winners favourite!

We hope you will come join us in the Great Outdoors!

Week 9: August 26-30 Art Spectacular!

Calling all crafters and performers!

This week will be all about showing off our artistic abilities and preparing for our annual end of summer performance for families to attend! Whether you enjoy being center stage or you prefer helping behind the scenes, there’s sure to be something for everyone this week!

Camp is sure to look like an art gallery as we explore a variety of painting techniques to create a masterpiece! Creating with clay is always a hit! We’ll make sure we have plenty of clay available for this! Our kinders will get crafty by making bead bracelets or necklaces while our older campers make melting bead creations!

There will be lots to prepare for our End of Summer Performance! We’ll prepare posters, banners and props throughout the week!

After all this preparation, let’s get comfy and cozy by wearing our pyjamas to camp on Thursday!

Join us and see all the creativity that will be unleashed during this artistic week!
